This week was damn near capitulation.
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
We took the game to overtime, only to fall flat on our faces.
Annoying. Embarrassing.
Despite the extra period, this was by far our poorest final result to date.
We simply didn’t show up when the game was on the line.
This is not the kind of legacy we wanted for this season.
Quitting is not in our team DNA.
And yet, here we are, riding a three game losing streak.
Overtime of the Seventh Game
Over the past several months, we seem to have lost our “clutchness”
I mean what the hell is this?!
It’s how this post was published, that’s what the hell is it!
🤮🤮🤮
Horrible. Absolutely horrible.
What’s more, today’s update (on August 12th, 2020) won’t make things much better. The skeleton post was an all-too-accurate representation of the week as a whole.
My 2020 Content Challenge is looking a little anemic. We need to put some meet back on those bones.
Maybe then we’ll be able to muster a new content streak and develop a new star player.
Too bad for the game of July, it still hasn’t happened yet.
We need one. The fans are clamoring for it and we need a moral victory after these last few lackluster games.
A replacement for our beginning of 2020 streak cannot come soon enough.
But even through this quagmire of content creation, there is a silver lining.
After all, any progress is progress. I started doing Content Challenges to move my own content forward consistently. It doesn’t matter so much how far or how fast.
The first goal is consistency. For now, everything after this a bonus.
And despite the no show, this wasn’t a bad week for bonuses.

This week will always be known as the week I completed my Gold Card page.
That might not mean much to anyone else. But it signals the beginning of big things for me. From here, I won’t just have 100s of Credit Cards listed on my site. I will actually have accurate descriptions of them. Plus, the info will also help me decide exactly how I want to play the Credit Card “Game.” From here, I only need to complete another 2 or 3 and I’ll be ready to push updates across the entire catalog.
From there, it’s only a hop, skip, and a jump away from launching Insider’s Guide to Credit Cards.
🤩🤩🤩
So it might have gone down as another L. But another important chapter in the story of this season has been written.
And I’m still optimistic about the direction we’re heading.

The Week Ahead
After last week:
My weekly content streak now is up to 4 days (begun July 29th, 2020).
My longest streak so far was 157 days earlier in my 2020 Content Challenge, broken in Week 21.
I don’t have anything scheduled to extend it.
So did I win July?
Nope, we took it down to the wire only to end up with pie in our faces.
Some of a recurring theme at this point. 🙄🙄🙄 Another loss but more lessons learned.
It’s all good. I love building Character. Soon though, “must win” will become the status quo.
