Favorite
Topics

My thirst for knowledge is unquenchable.  I use these “favorites” pages partially as a means to lock in the things I learn and partially as a strategy to help keep me from talking peoples’ ears off.  They are also one of the easiest outlets for my content challenges.  I’m going to learn these things anyway, why not write about them too?

Tier

What The Heck Is This?

Like the title says, these are my favorite topics.  Well, my favorite topics are probably things like LoTR, ASOIAF, and WH40K.  🤓  I am a true nerd, after all.  So I guess these are my favorite life improvement topics.  Personal development, life skills, classic arts, and anything else I binge-learn (or want to).

What You’ll Find Here

So far, only a few of these pages have any real value.  In fact, +90% of them are data dumps or placeholders.  But the ones I have completed are some of my best stuff.

U

My Own Research

I am the definition of a know-it-all.  Hopefully, someone else can use that to their advantage.  These pages are to cataloging my learnings.

Opinions of Same

I am a master of unsolicited advice.  Frankly, it’s annoying.  An outlet for self-expression, I hope this site will help me become a better listener.

Video Breakdowns

I consume hours upon hours of video training, keynotes, and other education content.  Timestamping content helps me learn and teach others.

The Long Game

This Site serves a few purposes for me.

These “favorites” check more of the boxes than anything else here.

ZachBradshaw.com is the manifestation of my favorite rabbit holesI pride myself in being an autodidact.  And these pages are great way of exploring these topics.

First, I use them as a resource dump, especially for YouTube videos.  Then, the lose templates help me frame my learning.  Finally (and most importantly), I must think critically about the subject matter to write the page.

As a bonus, when I’m doing my typical know-it-all things and monologuing about a topic, I have a reference for my ramblings.

😅😄😅

What a pretentious git—I know.  I’m sure it’s an absolute delight for my family and friends.

🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

95% of it is still under construction.  As soon as I get some of it cleaned up, I find a new obsession and vomit out a bunch of new stuff.

🥴🥴🥴

Anyway, let’s get into it.

Achievement

When you set goals like this, it becomes a spiritual thang.  Self Awareness is my fave. 🤩 It might be the best tool for sorting out things like your “heart’s desire” or “life purpose.”  And when you get it right, your goals become your destiny.  Predict your own success, then take responsibility.  You’ll be able to look back and say “Called it, b!tch.” 😏

Bullet Journal, Save Us

I pretty much put my entire life in my Bullet Journal.  It’s a straight up lifesaver.  More than that though: for me, it’s a life maker.  Bullet journals let you create your own dynamic layouts that are perfect for goal setting.  I create new layouts every year as I learn and my needs develop.  Without it, I don’t know how I would be able to plan as I do.

Turning Big Rocks Into Little Rocks

Each year, I revisit and revise my life goals.  I add and subtract as needed then build out a yearly plan based on that.  I break those down into monthly targets, to be reviewed and updated each quarter throughout the year.  Finally, I use weekly and daily journal layouts to plan and track the individual tasks that need to get done day to day.

Day Dreaming with Homework

I approach goal setting with a “shoot for the moon” mentality.  I’m all about bringing imagination into it.  But that has to be anchored with tracking and review.  I basically create worksheets for myself.  They range from daily To Do Lists to monthly project planning to financial dashboards.  Together, they help me identify what gets results for me.

Sharing is Caring

If you haven’t noticed, I like to share my goals. 😁 It’s good for you.  I even try to set up group goal setting activities when I can.  (See: First Mastermind)  Support and accountability are underrated.  Masterminds provide both.  Beyond that, I like to announce my goals to the world because I’m a sh!t talker and it motivates me to do live up to my words.

So far, only a few of these have any real value.  The vast majority are simply data dumps.  Eventually, each category will be fleshed out (and/or spun off into its own Brand).

Mastery of
Self

I value self mastery perhaps above anything else.   I strive to become the most virtuous, competent person possible.  Obviously, it’s a long journey with an undefined destination.  But that’s fine by me.  After all, I have at least a few more decades before my time on this planet runs out.  I’ll do my best to make the most of it everything single day.

Mastery of
the World

I have a strong sense of responsibility to the world.  Not only do I want to navigate well through our society, I also want to contribute to it.  So this half of my favorites helps satisfy my rabid curiousity as well as negotiate my way through the world we live in.  This include career-related pursuits and general “adulting” (the Zach Bradshaw way).
